I want to know what you think makes a great basketball player list all you reasons and stuff. What do you think makes a great basketball player?
Somebody who wants to play defense as much as offense. Doesn't even have to be the best player as long as they play hard all the time.
i think the amount of of unwed children you create based strictly on your basketball prowess is a very substantial clue. What do you think makes a great basketball player?
being a leader, not just being great on one but both sides of the ball. not being an -hole, being a good role model
I will just give you one name; Bill Russell. What do you think makes a great basketball player?
What is a great NBA player?
He plays offense, defense, makes the nice dishes to his open team-mate, improves the locker room with his charisma.Takes the big shot to win the game without hesitation, or dishes it to that open guy for an easy look.
Needless to say, a great is involved in each game on every aspect wheather hes on the floor, or injured... always contributing to his team.
You dont see the full package very often anymore,
the new nba player motto is, '*uck you, pay me.'
but if i had to say the one player that was closest to being the 'full package' today, i would have to say Kevin Garnette.....
well, the ability to to play well on both sides of the floor (offense and defense) is a major consideration. being a good role model off and on the court. but the most important part is the ability to elevate teammates.
He has to want the Ball ( great players never shy away from the pressure or the spot lite )
He also must be willing to pass Jordan, Bird, Magic all took most of the big shots....but they knew when to pas it up also.
Has to work hard on defense also. Taking Charges,Checking, Rotating, Hustle, Hands in the face, steals and Boards.
Penetrating.....Getting to that free throw line and getting the other team in foul trouble.
Working with others to improve there game.
I think, first, having a good all around game is very important. It's nice if you can shoot and score until the sun goes down, but if you can't play defense, you're worthless, and vice versa.
I also think behaving yourself off the court is very important. Look at Kobe - he's great on the court, but a pain in the butt off the court. That's tainted his reputation in the court of public opinion and a big reason why many people, including myself, do not include him in their personal list of great players.
You have to have a mix of Steve Nash, Kobe, D-Wade, LeBron, and Shaq.
You need Steve Nash creative passing and his amazing sense of direction. As a team leader, he's got a very friendly demeanor, but he still says what he thinks. If you play sloppily, he'll tell you in a nice way.
I know I'll attract a lot of controversy with this, here it goes. Kobe's killer instinct is crucial too. Any good athlete has to be aggressive. I heard on ESPN that most players don't really mind when they lose, but Kobe will be depressed all day. Kobe has the single-minded focus and intensity that all player needs. But sometimes he overdoes it.
D-Wade is just a nice guy, plain and simple. He loves his team and is so devoted to it. He could have stopped playing and gone off to Disneyland after his shoulder injury. But he came back anyways to give his team 100%, even though they wouldn't have won. He also does a great job putting up with Shaq's silly games.
LeBron has maturity; I can't put it in simpler words. Listen to his interviews. He doesn't bash anyone, speaks really articulately. What he says is always so full of meaning. I love his comments on his commercial, "The LeBrons." All young players can learn from his calm, composed demeanor.
Shaq is necessary to lighten up the mood on the team. He always makes people laugh in an environment that becomes a struggle for survival at times. He was also once the most dominant center in the league. He isn't anymore, but he will always have that good name and childlike charisma

How do i make the Junior Varsity basketball team for my high school?
I REALLY want to make the JV basketball team next year, what are full proof steps that will get me on the team? How do i make the Junior Varsity basketball team for my high school?
Trust me if you want to be on the team, you better do your suicides faster then the other players.... if you are faster, you stick out already in the coaches mind... next, play good defense... if you play good defense such as boxing out, moving your feet, no reaching in, and good at stealing then you have an even better chance at making it... lastly, your layups should be 100% accurate... practice them everyday... left and right hand.... i made the team when i was a sophmore, those that played as freshmen only had me as a new teammate because everyone else that tried out was cut.. those that were freshmen and played since freshmen were on the team automatically and i was the only additional player... but thats what i did... i was able to run with the team, set screens, and know the play.....
yeah, dont forget the play.. if you remember the play really well the coach will choose you often to show how to do a play... just practice your layups and grow from the game.. good luck...
if you want to be on the team next year, you have to practice this summer and in the off season. go to basketball camps or play in a summer league. that's what i did and i'm on jv this year...last year i was one of the worst people on our team. also...get advice from coaches of what you need to work on.How do i make the Junior Varsity basketball team for my high school?
grow
Depends on what position you plan on playing. Dont over dribble the ball like a lot of kids do before college (Even after :P) learn the pick and roll and practice your free throws. What will set you apart from everyone else though will probably be defense. Get tenacious on D, contest shots and play the passing lanes. How do i make the Junior Varsity basketball team for my high school?
Get yourself noticed by the coach and be yourself around the players. If your good then you will make the team for sure and if your really good then you will be a starter.
practice, practice shooting, jump shots, lay-ups,out side shots, base-line shots, get in shape, practice your defense play a scrimmage against your friends or older kids so you get better, practice your ball handling, passing, see if you can find a tape of the JV team last year and see wat the starters do. Good Luck!

What should I bring with me to basketball tryouts?
My first ever basketball tryouts and kind of nervous, I now they are going to tire me out, so is there anything I should bring with me. Like a bag or something I know I have to bring water, but is there anything else. What should I bring with me to basketball tryouts?
LoL Man you must be nervous..You need to make sure you are ready to play and not think about what to bring, all you need is a shirt, shorts and shoes..I played every year and remember thinking too much and that's cool but You need to think about how good you're going to do and what you need to do to get better..Practice everday and you will be a starter..Good Luck..
Well of course your gonna bring water! Make sure you bring a LOT of water. Trust me, I was in a basketball team. And I still play a lot too.
You also might want to bring good running shoes or basketball shoes. I would also bring a t-shirt, towel and a pair of shorts in a bag. I'm pretty sure they'll have basketballs for you.
One more thing: Make you have confidence. What should I bring with me to basketball tryouts?
If I were you, I'd try to stand out by wearing something no-one could miss. A clown suit would be a good choice...or--at least--a big frizzy wig. Also, whenever the coach stops to take a breath scream "AMEN!" three times as loud as you can. I'd also consider running a lot, everywhere you go. For example, when there's a water break, drink some water and then run around in circles on the court screaming the team name as loud as you can, over and over again. Enthusiasm counts!
First off if you are asking this question on yahoo answers your retarded this is a damn question. You ask you coach if you are this stupid there is no way in he'll you will amke the team
PeaceWhat should I bring with me to basketball tryouts?
Dont be nervous you'll do fine!!!
I think your set...
maybe your ipod if you want to listen to music before the tryouts start
so you wont be as nervous
water, a towel, your basketball shoes, shorts, t shirt
A basketball. duh and your confidence.
All your skills.

How could I stop panicking and prevent myself from getting nervous when I play basketball?
How could I stop panicking and prevent myself from getting nervous when I play basketball? I feel like I am better than most of my competition, but when I play, everything gpes wrong. I feel like I am in a rush. So I was wondering, what kind of rituals or things do you do to prepare for a game? If I don't want to do a pregame ritual or any of that stuff or I don't have the time, how can I prepare myself for a game? How could I stop panicking and prevent myself from getting nervous when I play basketball?
Breathe, man. Breathe. Relax. It's just a game. No big deal.
You know what, the only advice I can give you is to warm yourself up. Do stretching, jog, shoot -- sweat - before the tip-off to make yourself comfortable. I think unconsciously you are conscious. Of course everybody wants to have a good, if not great game but then it won't happen all the time. You want to show your stuff but then somehow, you get restricted -- you get nervous. Just do your thing, relax, if ever your in the starting line-up, in the first couple of minutes, you'll be conscious but after a few runs you'll get the hang of it and make yourself feel comfortable in the court. Just play the game! How could I stop panicking and prevent myself from getting nervous when I play basketball?
your like my friend... he's good but then he always just rushes in and drives no matter what and never passes...
ok so first
listen to your teammates.. if they say slow it down.. slow it down...
if ur the one crossing halfcourt dont always run.. just do a slow dribble.
think of the game, not yourself. Just rely on your Gut and you will win. Promise thats how i got my scholarship to Kentucky.
P.S. did you see that sick game winning shot mario made? How could I stop panicking and prevent myself from getting nervous when I play basketball?
Just Play 5-on-5 everyday Kid,until your Panicking Attitude will be gone.
Just tell your self to slow down and relax. Also try to have fun when your playing.

What hapenned to all the real basketball fans?
I mean truly people who love the sport. I'm young and i can still appreciate basketball and the players. Now though you have guys saying Kobe sucks LeBron sucks Dwayne Wade sucks etc. I mean i understand someone saying i don't like the guy or I hate his personality, but to say they suck I mean get real. Just like the Spurs why can't anyone just appreciate great basketball. I mean i don't like Dirk or Arenas for some reason I don't know why, but I admit they are amazing players. So why can't people just appreciate basketball anymore? What hapenned to all the real basketball fans?
That's totally true. I hear people say that the spurs suck all the time. I personally don't like the spurs but they are great and dominant. how are people gonna say that they suck?
by the way, im 13.
It's this sorry generation we're apart of who can't/won't appreciate anything anymore.
The guy below me: The Bay area! Ha! Anyone who supports Barroid is no where near "real" fans. What hapenned to all the real basketball fans?
The Bay area truly appreciates it. I went to a warriors playoff game this year and the atmosphere is just so amazing it makes everything better and all the fans love what happens on the court.
We're still here. We're just vastly outnumbered by the idiots who call themselves "basketball fans", who whine when the Spurs win another title due to their superior defense, chemistry %26amp; team work. What hapenned to all the real basketball fans?
Im right here
2 many haters out there
cuz in sports, you are to hate you the onther team but love yours, its a competition on and off the court.....thats why sports have fans!!!! makes game better and rivalrys greater... no 1 hates players or teams, they just dislike they do damage on the court again opposing teams
Because too many players have abandoned actually playing basketball. They have convinced themselves that they are God's gift to all of creation instead of just great ball players. They believe they are above the sport and the league. Their lifestyles are followed by fans. These 'fans' accept or reject the entire player for behavior off the court. I stopped following the NBA because I don't think the members of the NBA have any respect for the game and its rules. Too many players are egocentric. I can't stand watching players standing around watching a one-on-one match up every trip down the court.
In summary, the fans you talk about like the personalities and the lifestyles more than the game itself. They see themselves living the lavish lifestyles if they can be like [insert NBA star here.] They forget that the game is what gives them the medium to be great.

Do basketball players cut their calf muscles to jump higher ?
My friend thinks basketball players have surgery to shorten their calf muscles in order to jump higher , I think this is BS . Has anyone heard of this?Do basketball players cut their calf muscles to jump higher ?
From a strictly biological standpoint, that's just stupid. The muscle is what supplies the power to jump. When you remove muscle, you lose power, simple as that. Not to mention the painful recovery and physical therapy, and a knee that will never be as good as it was. You are very correct, it's total bullshit, call him on it :)
Your friend is wrong, and you are right.
From a thinking standpoint, consider that surgery is very expensive. I am sure that health insurance does not cover this type of operation.
Second, they type of surgery you are talking about is major surgery. So unless this baskball player's name happens to be Wolverine, we are talking about at least 4-6 MONTHS just sitting/laying around and doing nothing while the muscle repairs itself. (4-6 Months is a fast number. But I am using it for the sake of discussion. It actually takes much longer for a muscle to regrow)
Again, just kinda think about what such an operation would do. They would cut open the legs, take a piece of muscle out to shorten the calves, then somehow sew the muscles and tendons together. That's a grisly thought, and if surgeons could repair muscle like that, then why is Steve Francis out for the entire season because of a partially torn quadricep? The answer is it takes about 5 weeks for a small muscle to regrow and 8+ months for a big muscle to regrow.
After the 4-6 months, you would still need to rehab the muscle itself, and that's just the calves. You are doing basically nothing physical during that time (because you can't walk), so the rest of your body will be out of shape.
Finally, think about when this surgery is going to be done. No surgeon in the U.S. will do this type of unnecessary please-make-this-basketball-hopeful-jump鈥?operation on a kid. So that means you have to be 18.
It just would not make sense that a college player to be allowed to sit out and recover for a year, just to get an imagined 4-6 of vertical jump. Why would they spend time, money, and effort recruiting someone who is just going to sit there? Especially when there are countless other athletes banging on the door, begging for a chance to play basketball.
That was the thinking part. I'm sure there is more that can be said but the whole idea is that is just plain would not make sense to have surgery to jump higher.
Now for the physical part.
I am going to give credit to the Vertical Jump Bible to this information. I am paraphrasing. The calves play a surprisingly small role in jumping when you compare it to other parts of the body. Try locking your knees and jumping with just your calves. See how high you can jump. Now try keeping your toes up and try jumping without your calves at all. You will find that you jump higher with the other body parts minus your calves.
I do not want to turn this into a Vertical jump lesson, so I will just say that squatting 1 and a half times your body weight or more, is MUCh more important to jumping, then being able to calve raise 700 pounds.
So, I suppose you could say, well, I guess basketball players cut their thigh muscles to jump higher. I suppose if your friend is silly enough to think that basketball players cut their calves, he could say this.
Then, you would also want to consider that basketball players (and the very large majority of athletes) stretch. Stretching lengthens the muscle (at least for a short time). Why would they do this if a shorter muscle is better?
Your friend is probably thinking short muscles are more explosive. That's an anatomy lesson that probably got confused. Type-II b muscles or short muscles as they are called, are indeed more explosive. But that is not because they are "short." More correctly, they are muscles with "fast twitch fibers" and the number of those types of muscles a person has is pure, raw, and utter genetics.
You can train either muscle types to make what you have stronger, but the actual number/combination of fast twitch fibers to slow twitch fibers of what you have does not EVER change.
You have a very interesting friend.Do basketball players cut their calf muscles to jump higher ?
My friend, I am sorry to say but what your friend said was absolutely absurd. Cutting your calf muscle would do nothing to increase your vertical because by cutting your calf muscle you would be relieving the amount of force that can be exerted upon the court thrusting you into the air. ...... Hope I helped
I haven't heard of anyone doing this but I'm assuming NBA players earn their muscles through honest work in the gym. Besides, it's not just the calves that increase hops. The body has to work as one unit.Do basketball players cut their calf muscles to jump higher ?

Bird is a great pick, BTW.
Mine was Jerry Lucas. He was a great talent, won titles at every level, and had a great unselfish approach to the game.
Off the court, his development of image-based educational material for children as well as adults has helped a great many, and could someday change the way people learn in schools all over America.Who is your All Time Favorite Basketball Player from your Favorite BASKETBALL TEAM ?

Bird is a great pick, BTW.
Mine was Jerry Lucas. He was a great talent, won titles at every level, and had a great unselfish approach to the game.
Off the court, his development of image-based educational material for children as well as adults has helped a great many, and could someday change the way people learn in schools all over America.Who is your All Time Favorite Basketball Player from your Favorite BASKETBALL TEAM ?

How can I introduce myself to the basketball players at my new highschool?
I was captain of my last highschool. I really want to earn a basketball scholarship so I need to make a good friendship with them. They question is how do I do that, they probably think highly of themselves. How can I get the chance to play with them. How can I introduce myself to the basketball players at my new highschool?
Be brave man. Just go up to them and say, "Hey, can I get a run with you guys?" Don't talk yourself up, just say you wanna play.
If you don't ask, you don't get.How can I introduce myself to the basketball players at my new highschool?
School them all at basketball. They will either come to respect you, or gang up on you and beat you up! But its worth a try!

It is a good team. Monitor the waiver wire and read the box scores of basketball games. Don't make trades unless they are well thought out(or just because you are offered a trade). Initially monitor your team before making moves too soon. Good luck! What do you think of my fantasy basketball lineup?
a guy that might be on the waiver is Terrence Williams. He is going to break out. He's ranked around 200 in the offseason rankings for yahoo. I would drop JJ Reddick. Other than that, you have a solid team for your first year. I give it a 8/10.

First basketball team to use Requiem for a Dream for intro video?
So a lot of basketball teams including both NBA and NCAA teams use the song Requiem for a Dream for the intro with a video of highlights and sometimes one of the players screaming. Does anyone know who the team that came up with this? I know that in the NBA the Celtics have used it and in NCAA Mizzou, Kansas, Louisville, and a few more also use it. Thanks!First basketball team to use Requiem for a Dream for intro video?

What basketball position am I the best at?
I am really good at defense and have a lot of hustle but i'm not very quick. I can take an outside jumper and make it 75 percent of the time wide open but i'm not good at driving the lane and getting penetration. I do have a good fade away jumper when i'm posted up though. I'm only 5 foot 10 though so which basketball position am I best at?What basketball position am I the best at?
I would say your best spot would be the off guard position. You sound like your strengths are being a spot up shooter. If you are not great at handling the ball then "spot up" and knock down shots and allow a better ball handler to dribble.
im like, only the best player my little village in sandhem, sweden they say i can play at NBA standards i am very happy
You sound like me, I played wing on offense and played man D on the small foward.
from wut u said there, i would think that you'd be a good shooting guard or point guardWhat basketball position am I the best at?
ball boy.
id go with bench
I would say a shooting guard.....A point guard needs to be quick, so it seems to me you are best suited for the shooting/ 2 guard position...
You are probobly a good Power Foward,in a fast paced offence. Naturally, you are a wing/guard. If you wana be a great player in the fast break offence,i would go at a power foward to get matched up with a bigger person and exploit his size and shoot your outside jumper. During the off-season i would work on strength and BOXING OUT.
you don't ahve to be big to get rebounds, just box out and you can get every single rebound, which rebounds arn't needed with a fast offence.
If your running a trational offence, i would go with a guard. You can set screens on the top of the key(3 point line) and get some good looks with your jumper. If your offfence is complex you can take a spot by the baseline behind the 3 point line(in the corner of the court kinda) and wait for your point guard to drive in. if you break down the defence by your point guard comming in,most likly your defender will drift off you to your driving point guard. then your point guard dishes it too you for a open 3 or you can dribble up and take a little jump shot.
i would say a guard not point guard though. maybe a two or three( guards but not point)
small forward
shooting guard or sf
uhh i would probably say that you can play point gaurd you have all the skills a point gaurd really needs. you can shoot good you can post up i would say that you should work on ur passing and then its perfect
bench/towel boy
shooting guard. work on your defense and you'll fit that role well.
i say a 3. if not a 2. and then you should be a 4 on defense.

How do college basketball scouts get attention from ppl in Australia?
How do college basketball scouts get attention from ppl in Australia? Or in other words how do ppl from Aus. that play good ball get noticed by College Basketball Scouts in the US?How do college basketball scouts get attention from ppl in Australia?
One way to get yourself noticed is to mail videotapes of yourself performing in games to college coaches in America. If you can't afford the postage, just email them videoclips.
Another way is to try to get in some kind of foreign exchange program so you can play for an American high school. Plus you will have fun as well. If you are good, you will get offers.

I sense a rhetorical question.I think it is somewhere around 2300.

How can I look cute at a basketball game?
My crush is at the school's basketball team, and they have a match tomorrow. Their team colors are navy blue (or is it dark blue? I don't really know the difference so it could be either one lol) and orange. What do you think I should wear that will look cute but still practical and appropriate for a sports event? Also what about hair and make up? My style is preppy/girly with an edge(kind of Selena Gomez-ish, but not exactly)
Thanks in advance! How can I look cute at a basketball game?
hair have a high pony with 1 or 2 strands of hair falling out(looks sexy)
wear short shorts. orange or blue. http://www.polyvore.com/ae_surplus_draws鈥?/a> luike this but orange or blue

dark blue fishnet tights could work you know if you want some ege. i would say orange but that might be to over the top.
or a cute scarf would look hot maybe it could be white or black but no fringe! that would not look nice. http://www.polyvore.com/mcq_cotton_scarf鈥?/a> or you could get a white scarf and tie dye it orange and blue.like in the picture.
make up have dark brown on your lids but not to much. no eyeliner. but use mascara put on blush makes you look healthy. and maybe have some sparkly studs for your ears. or smething with peace. http://www.polyvore.com/full_tilt_heart_鈥?/a>

What is the Most important skill in basketball?
What is ONE physical or mental attribute that is a necessity in Basketball? One skill that will help you or your team succeed. Please explain why also? What is the Most important skill in basketball?
Teamwork without teamwork your team in basketball will fail and you will Always lose because even if you are michael jordan and you don't pass to anybody or nobody passes to you you will lose.
There are several important skills needed in basketball. First of all you just need to love to play and have fun and enjoy the game. Second, I would say to have a good physical game you need to have a good mental game. For example, there are a lot of players with poor sportsmanship that will play dirty and try to get to you. This is where a lot of people make mistakes, you need to just play harder and better, if you let them get you mad then they win mentally and in turn you end up playing like crap cause your mad. If you just play your best and do good then they get mad because what they are doing is not affecting you so they play like crap. Basketball is a very aggressive sport. So aggressiveness, determination, a intensity are a big thing. Being coachable, positive attitude, and having heart is very important. If you have these things then everything else will fall into place! What is the Most important skill in basketball?
Team Work!
Because even the best player in the world can not beat a whole team by them selfs. Letz use the Cavs for example they have one of the best players ever put still needs a good team to win championships.
So get to know your players and then you well have the best skill in B.B.
Shooting. This is the second most basic skill. What is the Most important skill in basketball?
Consistency
Leadership
the "skill" to play
One contribute is that you need to be able to run
you have to be focused
teamwork, u dont want a ball hogger on your team

How do i not cringe while playing basketball?
I play basketball, and im a center. whenever i try and make a move in the post and i get a little contact, i instinctively close my eyes. ive been trying to practice not to, but is there anyway to correct this bad habit? How do i not cringe while playing basketball?
All about getting used to that contact, to be honest the best way to get past it would be to get hit fair hard in post and realise that you can take it but not somthing you can make happen haha, keep at it in training, practice practise practiseHow do i not cringe while playing basketball?
I dont think this problem will go away instantly, it is a natural reaction and is instinct. However if you keep playing, you will get used to it and will not cringe anymore, like in soccer when the ball comes at someones head they learn to control it rather than move. How do i not cringe while playing basketball?
You sound like you're afraid to get hurt, gotta learn not to be.

How to release the air in my basketball?
The workshopman has pumped too much air in my basketball and the ball is too bouncy...Is there anyway I can release the air in the ball? How to release the air in my basketball?
Get a ball pumping needle.
Unscrew it from the pump
insert the needle into the ball without the pump
the air should escape
make sure the needle isn;t inserted too deep or else, when the desired weight of the ball reached, you wouldn;t be able to pull the needle out in time. How to release the air in my basketball?
Use the needle from the pump you would normally use to pump up the ball, the needle itself should unscrew from the pump. Stick the needle in the air hole in the ball and let air leak out until it's un-bouncy enough for you.How to release the air in my basketball?

How to play against tall people in basketball?
I am rather short for my age and whenever I play basketball with people 6ft+ I always get blocked and can't shoot, any advice? How to play against tall people in basketball?
think of ways to use your height to your ADVANTAGE in stead. when of the best players on the team at hour school is pretty short, but dang he's fast....try working on your calf muscles to jump higher. then the other team will think "oh, hes short, don't worry about him" then you cans scare the living daylights out of them...take them by surprise. its not about height. its about skill. there was another guy on our team that was 6 ft 7". people were intimidated by him, but he couldn't jump worth a darn. you could use your height to be able to duck around them....wow, i just had a flashback of a movie where these guys jumped really high, and the kid just ducked under his legs XD. now, that was a movie, but it still kind of proves my point....i think it was the one with shaq and a kid...don't remember his name...anyway...
work on your quickness and ball handling skills.if they block your shot work on dribbling by them then squaring up to shoot.
when they dribble, get low to the ground and you have the advantage to steal the ball from them which they have a hard time to do against youHow to play against tall people in basketball?
I'm tall but I have played against short people who can beat me. They usually get a pick from their teammate and then drive inside and when we try to block them they either throw up a floater or draw a foul. Also Jimmer Freddette had the same problem when he was a kid. He worked on his jumpshot so try that.
Get tough! Try to always stay in front of the bigger player when they are in the post, and let your teammates help get between your taller opponent and the hoop. This will force the other team to throw a lob into the paint, which is a much harder pass than a simple chest or bounce pass. Also, use your hands and make sure they are up at all times. How to play against tall people in basketball?
Shorter people tend to be more agile (I'm roughly 5'6 I think), so try and fake a lot, improve your jumpshots so you don't have to contest a layup against a big guy, and just generally run around trying to find a great look.
use moves to create space between you and the player marking you such as jab steps, or use fakes to make them think you're going to shoot then shoot.
Learn to handle the ball and enhance your shooting.
Don't play basketball with big people. Befriend some sporty midgets.

How do I know how much my basketball cards are worth?
trying to sell old basketball cards on ebay, dont know how much they are worth though. How do I know how much my basketball cards are worth?
Go to the website of your card maker. like if it is topps then go to topps.com. they usually have a pricing guide where you can type in the card and find out how much it is worth
go tot a cards shop, like in the movie blast from the past. How do I know how much my basketball cards are worth?
u can go online or to a store by a becket or any brand priceing guide 4 bascketball,,,,,,,,, good luck
look it upHow do I know how much my basketball cards are worth?
Are they really worth anything anymore? I mean everything or every card is mass produced now. There isn't a Honus Wagner with a limited number of them.
I would say 20 bucks maximum if it's a limited release type card.
Go to beckett.com.
For example, on the search line type in like for Example Topps Kobe Bryant and it should come up. You should see a number on the back of the card for example, some can say #16 on the back of them. Look for that number and that'll help you find the exact card. So type in the company and any other important stuff it says in the front (i.e it could be a Topps Reggie Miller Three-point contest card, so you would type in " Topps Three-point contest Reggie Miller.") Then look for the number on the back.

What position should i take in basketball?
I 've ignored basketball for many years but now I started thinking about playing because my friends have been talking about me playing basketball as I have huge body, long finger,i'm tall n i'm young n still expecting to grow taller.
The reason i left basketball in da past is that whenever i play it people laugh n insult me because i don't know how to play.
Is it too late to start again. What position should i take in basketball?
It all depends on you how you play, now are you good dribbling the ball down court, do you like spotting at your favorite spot to take the jumper, or are you tall enough to post your self to be center? Either way you need to practice, I used wake up just before the sun came out to practice, and then go to school. But its never to late to get in to it. My son at 4 a tried to get him in the game but he never took interest, now at 14 he want to learn, so you also need desire.
I think that you should be Center. And dont let those people laugh at you. I am a PG and that may be a way different position but when people are mean and make fun of me I actually go on fire and I make everything. It is never too late to play BBallWhat position should i take in basketball?
It's not too late to start again, although you will have to practice a LOT. A lot more than your teammates. Also, I think you should play power forward.

power forward or center

If you want to play, go ahead and play. Don't worry about what other people think! The more you play, your game will get better... Good Luck..:)

It's not too late to start again, although you will have to practice a LOT. A lot more than your teammates. Also, I think you should play power forward.

What is your definition of a athletic basketball player?
I'm not intrested in anyones favorite basketball player, or who you think is the best I just want to know who you guys think is the best athlete, and why. I think a good athlete can not only jump, but he is also very agile , can run, and jump off of two feet, left, or right every thing should look effortless. What is your definition of a athletic basketball player?
Caron Butler.. descent size, can run like a whippett, post, shoot the 3, automatic at the line, defend 1,2,3 postitions, good on boards, great in the clutch.. could say the same about a couple of other players-D.Howard, Bosh,What is your definition of a athletic basketball player?
exactly man a good basketball player is one with the combination of skill ,power and speed .he has to be experienced but not necessarily very experienced.he should be committed and dedicated an example could be Allen Iversonused boats

What should I practice to make the basketball team?
I'm trying out for the seventh grade basketball team and I would like some pointers on how to improve my game. I'm fairly tall and the fastest in the grade, I can also jump very well. I can shoot decent and dribble fairly well, I also can run for endurance because of soccer any help would be great. What should I practice to make the basketball team?
Coaches look for the best of a few things:
1. The best Defender
2. The best Rebounder
3. The best Ball Handler
4. The best Shooter
5. The best Passer
So you can work on any of these items. The biggest thing is to not limit yourself, though, make sure you're at least okay at all of them, and great at at least one (being great at all of them is obviously better, though).
If you are tall and can jump pretty well, definitely use that to your advantage as a rebounder...it's the only thing that happens on BOTH ends of the court, so coaches love players that can rebound.
In tryouts, the main thing is to be confident, but not cocky, HAVE FUN, and always work hard. Listen to what the coaches have to say as well...if they know your open to suggestions and "coachable" they're more inclined to keep you on the team.

ball handling, layups, foul shoots, three pointersWhat should I practice to make the basketball team?
you r a young kid. try learning how to handle the ball its very important for young age ballers. u can impress ur coach alot. make sure u can dribble with both hands without looking, and also dribbling at different speed. once u can learn that then learn how to do a layup with both hands then practise ur shoting. while playing d makesure u r on ure tipy toes and the man is always infront of u. u have to spend alot of time in the gym. good luck
Work on your dribbling, shooting, passes, and defense. The most over looked thing in basketball is Defense. I know its nice to dunk, and see a nice shot, but if you score 30 points a game and the guy your guarding if your playing man scores 31, or more what good were you. Sometimes you will get a lot of playing time if your just good at defense. I had a buddy in H.S that started just cause he played good defense he wasn't really a good shooter, and he was a forward so he didn't handle the ball much either. In try outs try to relax, and just play like you normally would know thats easier said than done, but if you get so nervous you might not play well. Also work out as much as you can your whole body. Work out legs for jumping, jump rope, calf raises, squats, lunges, box jumps, etc... Best of luck to you! What should I practice to make the basketball team?
You should work on your:
1) Ball Handle- Coaches Look to See how well you can bring the ball up both with pressure as well as to set-up plays etc.
2) Mid Range Shot- Its not all about shooting outside the perimeter and letting off threes the entire game...the more areas you can get the shot off at the more effective as a player you will become.
3) Stamina- Since your a fast runner you should be able to keeo up with the defense if not get past them, being able to outlast the defense will put you at an advantage where as in they're tired and you're still ready to go.
Being Versatile is what Coaches look at, a player who can play well in more than one area.
P.S. Watch Alot Of Nba Videos, As well as the Season itself....

How can I improve my offense for basketball?
I've played basketball all my life, I have problems facing opponents who talk a lot "smack". I can't deal with it, and it negatively effects my game. Also, I have a habit of making a lot of turnovers. Sometimes I just loose control and I make bad passes. I am actually a good player when I don't make these mistakes. Please Help! How can I improve my offense for basketball?
Dont pay any mind to the player who talks smack he's only trying to intimidate you and throw your game off. What youneed to do is perfect your ball handling. It'll also make it easier to drive and get inside buckets much easier withoutcommiting soany turnovers.
just stay focus and ignore these guys, or if you'll listen to them, use what their saying on you against them. that's practically how you play against guys who talk smack. you just have to show them that you are a great player, and they'll shut up on their own. if you let them see that you're being affected with what they are throwing at you, then they'll certainly keep that talking up. just concentrate, play your game, have that confidence in you and everything will be on your side. also, everybody makes mistakes in basketball. all you have to do is make up for your mistakes and don't let those mistakes take the best out of you.How can I improve my offense for basketball?
ignore them or just drive them hard to the baskets, if they get pushed around, then they will know that you are all business and won't mess with you, just show them what you got right from the begining
Why don't you try talking smack back to them since it is so difficult to ignore them? Even though they intimidate you, you cannot let them know that. Never! Try to intimidate them back!!! Then they might shut up.
Anyway, here's a good website for ballhandling and passing tricks http://hubpages.com/hub/Basketball-Dribb鈥?/a>How can I improve my offense for basketball?
if you want to play for a team, or a league you got to have ball handlling skills, in 2005 i played for my church and got little playing time becuase i didn't have good ball handling skills and the coach saw that. then during the summer i did ball handling workouts after running 4-5 miles a day. you don't have to run but i did. you can run with the ball or without it. it was just an extra thing. i did the ball handling workout everyday. After two weeks i didn't have to look down to dribble anymore. i knew i had good ball handling drills. The next year i was point guard and played most of the game. it was awesome. i also juked out a lot of cocky black player b-ballers. it boosted my confidence a lot. In my senior year of high school, i am a sophmore i will try to make my basketball team and i hope they will be impressed with my basketball skils.
Hers is a link to the workout i did during the summer. i also added some of my own workouts with these.

ignore them or just drive them hard to the baskets, if they get pushed around, then they will know that you are all business and won't mess with you, just show them what you got right from the begining

How to get more motivated about basketball and get rid of butterflies before games?
I'm on my school basketball team and our coach just makes practice and games miserable. When we are at practice he only says something negative, like somehow we didn't do something right, he never compliments or supports us when we do something right. i love basketball and it's my favorite sport and i used to be passionate about it, but now i'm just kinda like what ever. How do i get back into basketball? My other problem is before games and in the beginning of the game i get really bad butterflies, how should i handle this? How to get more motivated about basketball and get rid of butterflies before games?

i used to get butterflies and it would be such a bad adrenaline rush that my stomach would hurt but my coach told me to get your adrenaline out by moving around and stretching and running in place. you know just warming up. try and stay active and not just sitting around ya know?
Well as an athlete, you've got to block out the negatives and make yourself better. Remember what your coach says, then do it right. To get rid of the butterflies, listen to your Ipod before the game. It will get you pumped up. Then when your on the court, don't think about what the people in the stands are seeing. You're out there to win and that's all. Who cares what others think? You're out there to get yours and yours onlyHow to get more motivated about basketball and get rid of butterflies before games?
I get nervous before a game, all the time, and I've been playing for 7 years. I get butterflies in my stomach because I am worried I'll screw up. lol. But I never do. They always go away right when the ball is tipped.
I just warm up, shoot around, run around the gym once or twice, stretch, tell myself we're going to beat the crap out of the team. Just be optimistic. They'll go away the second the ball is in play.
Good luck!
Definitely get good earphones, like the Skullcandy earbuds that have high sound quality with good bass, and if you have an iPod, go to settings%26gt;EQ%26gt;bass booster. then play some exciting music, like rap or techno. Close your eyes while listening to it.
Listen to music
Butterflies are natural...it means your ALIVE!
In regards to your coach, i have been a coach, and it is not the job of the coach to stroke your ego to make you feel good, ( the great coaches inspire tho) however they are there to help minimize the negatives in practice so they dont become bad habits in the game. " you play how u practice..practice makes perfect.
In your career you will come across good and bad coaches and because of their appraoch to the game or their personality they might drain you. but just remember the initial reason why you started loving the game..and remember anything worth having is worth working for..and championships aren't jus given away to anyone who wants one..they're earned
well honestly i like the teaching methiod where the coaches arte mean it has alwayse made me work somuch harder to impres them then i think to not have the butterflyes just have more confidence in yourself and your team:D hope i helped

What basketball position should I play? How can I get the skills needed to play that position?
I'm 14 and want to try and make JV as a freshman next year. I'm 5'4", and according to a doctor going into my growth spurt year. I'm not particularly good or bad at any aspect of basketball. I can shoot from deep relatively well, and I'm pretty fast at short distance sprints. My mile is about 6:50. I'm light and skinny, but not very strong. I hope that helps. What basketball position should I play? How can I get the skills needed to play that position?

Why is spitting different in baseball and basketball?
Baseball fans have excuses for why baseball players spit all the time, but basketball players don't spit and they are exercising much more during a game. Spitting in baseball must not be something that has to be done - do you agree? Why is spitting different in baseball and basketball?
Well, spitting in basketball can quite literally be fatal. That much is obvious.
baseball is played on a dirt/grass field. basketball is played in a gym. its just gross inside when it just sits there all nasty. plus basketball players could slip on someones spit and thats also nasty. Why is spitting different in baseball and basketball?
They're indoors in basketball. You don't spit indoors, especially when the indoor area is one that gets dangerous when wet.
Cant spit on a hardwood floor, that is obvious but you can spit on the grass and that is the only reason as people spit playing street ball.
Serious.
Your assistant
davidWhy is spitting different in baseball and basketball?
1. The playing surface. Hardwood won't absorb spit
2. Baseball players eat sunflower seeds. There's a reason they are called 'spits'.
3. Some baseball players use chew. Disgusting stuff, but it is used. And nobody using chew is about to swallow their spit.
With the playing surface, you'll notice that football and hockey players also spit. Less than baseball because no seeds/chew - but they'll still spit on the grass or ice.
1- baseball is generally played outdoors, and always on a field that will somewhat absorb the mess
2- baseball players chew tobacco, sunflower seeds, gum, etc.
3- finally, the most overlooked reason, basketball is an intense cardio workout. if the players were constantly spitting as baseball players do, it could lead to dehydration.

What is with the people posting stupid basketball topics?
I don't get it. Who goes into a basketball forum and starts asking if the season is boring, or if the league didn't exist would anyone care? That is pathetic, just stay in the sport section that you enjoy and write stuff there. What is with the people posting stupid basketball topics?
My only problem is that people are going away from the category topic, basketball. The NBA Finals aren't the only basketball taking place in the world people.

How to start taking bets for a basketball game?
We're having a pickup basketball game later today and we're taking bets from observers as to who will win. What is the best way to set up odds so they work well and everyone gets all the money that they won? Thanks!
How to start taking bets for a basketball game?
I'm not quite sure who bets on pickup basketball, but it would be hard to set odds unless you know all the players and try to make it as fair as possible. If the teams are evenly matched you could run the line anywhere from -3.5 to +3.5 would be my suggestion. Or make one team far superior, set a high line, and see if the other team covers. Just don't get suspected of putting on the fix.

How come I only shoot good at basketball on good days?
Ok I just got back from playing basketball and WTF I was getting hot making like 5 shots in a row and stiff. Makin 5 FT in a row. But when it comes to some days I dont shoot this good.
Have I just now got better at b-ball?How come I only shoot good at basketball on good days?
Well, it could have to do with whether your arms are warmed up enough or not. And after a while of shooting, your arms will feel tired.
Just PRACTICE AND PRACTISE !How come I only shoot good at basketball on good days?
Everyone has off days ;)
It probably is because of the days aren't good days for you, or your mood goes down on certain days. How come I only shoot good at basketball on good days?
i think as the future mj you have not become fully aware of all the powers that you are entitled to....just be patient and let the shootin come naturally...good luck...
your just getting better, just keep it up!
Some days we are all good and some days we suck.
Practice makes perfect. Keep it up and you will get better.
If you can hit all those, your good at basketball. Everyone has an off day. Just keep practicing and those off days will come less. Good luck.
no matter how good u are at a sport you will have good days and also bad days, it depends on how your day and emotions go that day.
YOO practice i was like you, ( but i made like 10-15 feet away and im a girl LOl )
you probably just didnt position yourself the exact way you always did
also
try different angles at shoooting
~good luck~
Work on other parts of your game such as defense and passing. That way, you'll still be an asset to your team when you have poor shootings days. This will insure that you'll play more than some of the others simply because you'll have more to offer...international trucks

How long do i need to practice basketball shots to get good?
I have just gotten a new basketball goal and i am wanting to know how long i need to practice my shots to get good so far it has been about two hours should i practice more? How long do i need to practice basketball shots to get good?
Practice everyday at least 30 minutes to an hour. Michael Jordan did it everyday. Good luck!
every day for an hour plus workout and diteHow long do i need to practice basketball shots to get good?
well... go outside and practice and how about u tell me how long it took
however you practice make sure you have good form with proper spin, arc, and follow thru you should have someone there to help you perfect your form and then just keep practicing until you feel confident, its all about confidence! How long do i need to practice basketball shots to get good?
i think it is also good to work out your arms if you are going to be a good shooter, I realized when I stopped working out my arms my arm strength got less effective and I wasnt able to shoot threes as i did before. So I recommend you work out your arms by using dumbells, and machines, and etc.
6 months. or it can take a month of true practicing. u need to practice with friends, and also alone.
1,000 shots a day at least 5 days a week for a solid year or two if you want to get anywhere with your shot.
Yes, practice as much as you can. Start by shooting 20 shots close to the hoop, and then move back a little and shoot 20 more and keep doing that. Shoot 100 free throws a day. Trust me I did and it helps.
i know some of the pros practice sometimes 100 shots from each area on the court. You probably have to practice more than you think! Good luck
well..... it really matters but u should practice for 4 hours and u will get better and better!!
I have a question, are you good at playing basketball?
A lot depends on what your goal is.
Do you want to be better so you can do well in gym class?
Or do you want to play college basketball and maybe in the NBA?
If the answer is the second choice (NBA) do not worry about how much time it takes; those guys got there by playing for hours and hours without realizing how long they had practiced. You have to love the game so much you do not notice time passing to get that good.
To answer the question, practice as long as it is still fun.
an hour or two and end with like 100 free throws or better yet dont take 100 free throws...make 100 free throws.

backcourt violation or over %26amp; back violation- violation that occurs when the offensive team has brought the ball into the frontcourt, returns the ball into the backcourt once it has positioned itself in the front court: the offensive team crosses the half court line and then crosses back into the back court.
As soon as a player from that team touches it in the backcourt , the ball is dead and is awarded to the opposing team for a throw-in.

What basketball position would suit me best?
Im trying out for JV basketball this school year, im just about 6 foot, and 140 lbs, would i be best at shooting guard or small forward? What basketball position would suit me best?
If i were a coach you would be a small forward. You better be really good at layups (both sides), and a decent jumper.
However, if you are terrible at rebounding (which i doubt because you are 6ft) for whatever reason, and if you are good at long range shooting, then you would be a shooting guard.
You must be a good defender for both, obviouslyWhat basketball position would suit me best?
You could be good at either position but you might want to put some weight on if your playing Small forward if your playing in a tough division so you don't get bullied around when posting up.What basketball position would suit me best?

What do you recommend is a better basketball shoe to buy, the Hyperfuses or the John Wall Zigtech Slashes?
I can't decide, which shoe to buy because I am mostly looking for lightness and breathability so you think that I would go with the Hyperfuses right? I'm gonna be moving to a building on Lake and Wells, looking for a place with good competition, preferably more than one basketball court and idealistically 24 hours.Where can I find a good indoor basketball court in Downtown Chicago, closest to the L?
gogling "indoor basketball court chicago" gave me lots of ideas in "Yelp". Read reviews on East Bank Club, and West Loop Athletic Club for more information. Don't expect a private club to be inexpensive. If budget is a concern look at the Park District or maybe YMCA.

What do high school coaches look for in Grade 9 basketball players?
First of all, I'm a male.
I'm heading into grade 9 this year and have 2 months to prepare for basketball season.
I'm 5'9 and right now I'm doing plyometrics and running every morning to prepare myself. I am training my left and right hand layups as well as my speed to get around the man defending me more easily.
Do you guys have any any advice on what I can do to help me get onto my grade 9 basketball team? What do high school coaches look for in Grade 9 basketball players?
You have the right idea. At my high school, the first two days of tryouts didn't focus on the skills in basketball. The coaches had us run sprints for the majority of those days. If you couldn't keep up you got cut, simple as that. They didn't care if a kid could knock down threes like Ray Allen.
Layups are also key, so keep that up. They want to see you make simple, basic shots and also show the ability to use both the right/left hand to handle the ball.
Remember you're not going to be competing against the juniors and seniors. Don't go in there expecting everyone else to be polished players.
You are doing everything right to make the team, I am 5'10 and going into grade 9.
You have to try out for guard, you prolly played forward in 8th grade but ur to short in 9th.
But the major thing you need to know is during try outs, you mostly do drills and conditioning, actually at my school the first part of try outs is conditioning. But back to the drills, if you are trying out for guard, you are mostly doing dribbling and shooting drills, so work on mosty individual skills on top of the conditioning.
Play great defense in scrimmages, u will make the team with d alone, not starting, but to come of the bench in situations.
Also you have to go into try outs with the right attitude.
Not like
"I am the best here" or "He is gonna make it over me"
have a
"I am a great player, I am going to give it my all and I am going to make the team."
Lastly, have fun, if you don't smile once during try outs, no point in going. Basketball is a fun game, and if you are tensed up, you will miss a lot of your shots and not take it in, crack a smile and be a good sport, coaches love that.
Good Luck! What do high school coaches look for in Grade 9 basketball players?
You are gonna want to work on everything. Ball handling, outside and inside shot techniques, defending is a big thing. Shoot about 1000 shots everyday from everywhere on the court. Work with both hands on dribbling the ball. Then for the defense run alot. If you do all this it will help you during try outs. This is what i did and i made the team every year and started and never benched all four years.
they look for potential. someone who works hard and has some skill and most important of all is being coachable. if a coach tells u to do something u do it! even if it screws your game up. if they think your coachable and can improve and have good potential they'll keep you. they don't actually care about the freshman team's record. What do high school coaches look for in Grade 9 basketball players?
Ability to run drills and play team ball, they will look for athletism but it sounds like you got that covered just look like you know what your doing out there
Just play better than the Juniors and Seniors, and make yourself a team leader on the court during tryouts. Don't be shy. Play your hardest.
Work on your cross-over and ball handling. The most because you will play PG or SG.

How can i get back into my basketball prime?
Back in the day i was a good basketball player with decent shots and layups and jumps.. Nowadays all i have are my jumps and my general athleticism. How can i improve my shots/layups quickly?
My friends at school want me to get back into ball so i can play with them. I can play well, but i can never finish! How can i get back into my basketball prime?
My dad always says, after many years of not playing bball...his shot has never gone away, and it dont. He lights up the nets when i play him 1 on 1. Layups, im not so sure..you just gotta get the perfect finger roll you used to have going. Even NBA players get cold streaks, you just gotta see the ball go in the net a few times and you should be fine. You've been out for awhile, you just need some fine tuning and a little practice to familiarize yourself.
Good luck and i hope you can learn to finish again! How can i get back into my basketball prime?
ok you know the same thing happened to me you know what i lost?my CONFIDENCE if what you say is true all you need is your confidence backwheels and tires

How to get more playing time in basketball?
I ask earlier last week how to make a varsity basketball team at my school, and well i made the team, and now i'm 3rd string PG. How do I get more Playing time? How to get more playing time in basketball?
break the others knees, or just play better in practice.
practice practice practice!!!! You need to show the coaches that you are able to get playing time during practice....you need to practice more than the players who start....How to get more playing time in basketball?
earn it. show ur coach that u can be just as good. dont be a ball ho g though, but when u do get the ball show him what u can do w/ it either shooting wise or make good desicions on who to give it to. for one i am a starting player but fo r my reasons bcs i am a better passer then anyone on my team
Go hard in practice, and show the coach poise, good ballhandling, and leadership, along with good decision making. You'll get time, just work hard...How to get more playing time in basketball?
work harder at practice, show the coach that you're better than those other point guards and he will be willing to get you more playing time
if u dont have talent it dosen't matter how hard u practise. u can only improve on dribbling.
i too am a third string point guard on my freshman team. and the only way you can get playing time is if you work as hard as you can in practice. don't work hard to impress your coach. but work hard against your teammates. when you are doing suicides, don't just do it, do it to beat everyone else. and don't try to do just as your coaches want. also, even if you don't get the playing time, you work hard to get your teammates better. then you will be a part of a winning team.
Keep a positive attitude, do well in practice, learn to play well with others and get them involved. Set aside some free time to practice by yourself and work on improving your game.
well, i'll tell you what I did. I went into practice everyday telling myself that I was the best and that NOBODY could stop me. Keep working hard in practice and want the ball. Treat the ball like it is a big diamond or something. Also, you could just go up to your coach and ask them what you could be working on at home to make you a better player. This would show them that you were truly dedicated if you listened to them and they could see improvement. Hope it all works out for ya!

How hard is it to get a basketball shoalre ship to college?
hey wut up. i really want to play basketball in college. im starting small foward and i avarage around 20 points a game. can i make it and how big will the school b?How hard is it to get a basketball shoalre ship to college?
yea you could as a matter of fact michael jordan didnt even make his high school basketball team and he is the greatest player of all time never say never dude but if you really want to go play basketball in college i would advise you to go to a college team that needs some help since your good like for example if u try to go to duke or north carolina they all have great players and they might not need you. you know what i meanHow hard is it to get a basketball shoalre ship to college?
You need to know how to spell "Scholarship" first of all.How hard is it to get a basketball shoalre ship to college?
If your working hard somebody will take notice in your talent, and you will most definitely get a scholarship offer, whether it's a big time D-1 school or a small time D-3 program.
Grades mean everything too. I played HS ball at a very little HS in N. Carolina. As a shooting guard i averaged 26ppg, 5rpg %26amp; 5apg as a senior, but when it came down to it i had poor grades and had to settle for Junior College. The major schools were afraid of me because i was a poor student. After 2 years of JUCO ball i transferred to D-1 and played somewhat decent.
But i would say make sure your grades are as big as your game, cause it's just as important if not more.

What methods can you use to help a stubborn and condescending group of freshman basketball players to conform?
4 freshman are basically refusing to conform to their college basketball teams new way of doing things. I was wonder from a purely psychological standpoint what are your opinions on how to conform such a group? Please no precarious opinions. What methods can you use to help a stubborn and condescending group of freshman basketball players to conform?
It's interesting that it's the freshmen who are not complying to changes, since their new to the team and weren't terribly accustomed to the old ways of doing things.
What comes to mind is role modeling, explaining the changes, rewarding behavior and establishing authority.
Leverage the older members of the team and encourage them to role model. In a positive way, point out the incongruity between the more mature players and the younger ones
Explain the rational for the changes that were made and how they will help the team as a whole. Leave room for feedback and give the players some sense that their ideas and feedback are welcome and encouraged, giving them a sense of agency.
Incorporate a system that will reward behaviors that are in line with what you want. There's also room for punishing extreme behaviors that detract from the teams overall goals.
There may be a need for the coach to establish a better sense of authority. Back in my sports days it was the coach's way or the highway, no questions asked. What methods can you use to help a stubborn and condescending group of freshman basketball players to conform?
whats precarious? and talk to the coach of bb team and complain bout them.
